Hypothetical Wes Anderson

ISO50 is a blog that I frequent, from this graphic designer Scott Hansen. He's also known for his electronic music, under Tycho.
(The link to ISO50 is in my Selected Reading Material to the right.)
But there are always some very intriguing posts on his blog.

But in particular, there's was post about a hypothetical Wes Anderson Film Festival that this designer, Alex Cornell, did as a project. Haha amazing, right?!?

I for one, love Wes Anderson, for his humor and visual scope.
So I immediately appreciated this post.

The link will send you to some nifty stills from the project. And a very subject appropriate trailer to go along with.

Final Thought: Bummer, that this is all hypothetical. Lol

Leo Romero x RVCA

There's so many photos that have yet to reach the masses.
Especially from last night's tom foolery.

Which, my ears are still ringing, as of one day later. (fuck)
I'm estimating my ears will be the first thing to go out when I'm old and crusty.
But its all good, its for the love of music, right?

Unfortunately, I have no visuals cataloguing last nights audio/visual bliss (Except for camera phone pictures and video, which I'm currently debating the idea.).

But believe me, it was quite a spectacle.
Three letters.
TSH.

If I had more sleep in these last 3 days, I would stay up and work on posting more photos tonight.
But since I've only got an average of like 5hrs of sleep, I'll just post a video that pertains to none of the above. Haha.

If you could be reborn, who would you be?
-I suppose I'd be Leo Romero.

Thank You, Tampa

Within this past year, the skateboard industry has taken a huge punch in the metaphorical gut.
Most of the retail industry suffered severe losses, ultimately resulting in cuts and/or filing for bankruptcy.

Active Mailorder! That's when you know we're fucked.

But locally, shops like Outer Limitz (2 locations) and Board City have closed shop. And even Skatelab failed to survive these TET's.

(sigh)

But one of the first parks that I grew up in, 688 Skatepark (which back then it was Central Skatepark) closed its doors permanently a couple months ago. Which I blame this on them not ever cleaning their foam pit, but that's entirely besides the point. Lol.

...Out of this hardship comes the light at the end of the tunnel. Note: I'm not at all saying we are in the clear. But until we are in the clear, lets just indulge on the new (and quite honestly; impressive) skatepark taking 688's place in Tampa.

Camera Obscura

It's a dandy feeling to see some strong visuals finally grace my blog.
Since I have my camera back, there should be pictures posted at least weekly.

Like for example, I'll have to tote my camera when I meet up Taylor at 3 to test out this new bamboo construction skateboard. It may not be really new technology, but I'm interested to see the shape and how it compares to basic 7 ply wood. I'll try not to purposefully break this new board.

As for the rest of the day...
I may take pictures at The Secret Handshake

A Ha! The Answer!

I'm starting to believe that all not-so-great nights are followed by very inspiring and thought provoking mornings. This may not be true for everyone, but it is absolutely the case for me. And before I get deeper into this thought, I want to clarify that my Saturday evening activities weren't soooo bad.

It just happened to feel a lot better, in the act. Lol.

Disclaimer: If it sounds like I'm angry, or upset, or pissed, and/or especially emotional...
I'm actually not at all. :)

I had a pretty decent morning.
I didn't fall asleep in church.
That's a surprise.
And I am running on 4hrs of sleep.
Crazy.

But since I was awake, I got to the chance to reflect on last night's tom foolery.
And in addition to that, I found myself answering "the inevitable question".

Here's The Point:
I really don't know what I meant by my blog header when I first launched this blog 2 weeks ago.
It just sounded right when I was brainstorming.
So, I didn't ever mean to "literally" make sense of it through the course of time. (Let alone two weeks.)

With that all said, I know what I want to do with my life.
It's a refreshing thought.
But unfortunately, this is a matter I would rather not address out on the open.
It just kind of seems unnecessary.

umm...

I thought about blogging about last night, on my drive back home today.

But I not quite ready to talk about it. Lol.
Too much happened in such a small amount of time. (Try not to jump to conclusions.)

I might continue this thought after I shower.

Why Summer '09 Could Be Epic?

This is another one of my high anticipations.
I'm gonna try not to pirate this, which says alot.

But it depends on my financial status around that time period. Lol

(...and I should have my camera back tomorrow. yay)

This rain...

I can't stand this weather. We've had it for the past 3 or 4 days now.
And everyday around 10 or 11am, I'm usually automatic to pop up out of my bed.

But this damn rain has sucked the motivation out of me.
So I've been waking up at 1:30 every single day. Haha

Problems associated to this rain and sleeping in:
  1. Sleeping in, exhausts me. Like I feel like I could just go back to sleep... right now.
  2. I've yet to get anything accomplished today.
  3. I'm still at home.

500 Days Of Summer

One of my highly anticipated things (not just films) to look forward to this summer.
Its like number 4 on my to do list. Lol :)

And I watched Star Trek twice within the same 24 hours. Best 14 bucks ever spent? Yup.

Typing With One Hand...

...sucks. Big fat one.

I hope to wake up tomorrow morning, with less swell and more movement of my wrist.
But I'm gonna take a shower before the power goes out. Then make myself a mean pastrami/pepperjack sandwich.

:) hopefully?

Keys To Success #1

If you want to avoid you're party being busted due to a fight or overcrowding...
...know at least 2/3s of your crowd.

If you filter your crowd, you'll also save more alcohol.

Just a thought.

Extroversion

38 miles is the approximate distance from where I am sitting right now to where I'd rather be.

I literally just sighed a big breathe, hoping to fill up this hot air balloon...
So I can escape, save gas, and avoid waking my parents with the sound of an engine.

A couple days ago, Max and I discussed extroversion and introversion. Prior to this conversation, I was unaware of their meanings. Max thinks I fit the qualifications of an extrovert.

"...tend to be energized when around other people, and they are more prone to boredom when they are by themselves."

Fair assessment. I don't think I was willing to debate his presumption.

Final Points:
  1. I wouldn't have thought about my extroversion, if I was at Hiatt's right now.
  2. 2nd day without my camera. And officially the 4th day of blogging. I've been itching to post some photos. (Thank you, Hayley. I believe this is your fault. lol)
  3. Went skating today with Ivan and Ritter, filmed some impressive lines, and got attacked by the sun. Need to lose my farmer tans at my forearms and waist-to-knee region, while not getting any darker overall. Haha, predicament? I wish I was a bold(er), because I would just wear sleeves on my forearms and shins... and nothing else, so I can even out this color.
  4. And finally... I'm still unsure where all my money is disappearing. I might need to do something about that.

I Was Kidnapped

It was an interesting series of events, once I upped the last post directly at midnight.

Becca texted me 20mins after that post. I didn't really think much until she called asking where my house is, in relation to the interstate. Haha. Initially, she was trying to find a pool to midnight swim in.
(Might I add, the best place to find a pool and hot tub at night are in Jax Beach. And if not a hotel, just go to Hiatt Woods backyard. Haha, don't really do that. Though if you brought it to his attention, he might just compliment you on the idea.)

Hypothetically, when you're driving to a destination, and you realize SHIT I'm going the absolute wrong way... that would mean you're going towards my house. So back to the point... Becca's carload of four went the wrong way.

...long story short...

By 1:30, I hopped a fence. Then proceeded to make rounds on a beast of a slide at my community pool, that I've never been to until this random occasion.

At 3:30, I found myself increasingly farther from my side of town, in search of a hot tub.

By 4, I was about 40mins from Fleming Island, in Becca's truck at a Krystal's, and eventually heading back home.

Subconsciously, I really need to tote my camera around more often.

But in conclusion, last night was kind of like Alpha Dog. Minus the sex, drugs, alcohol, and dying at the end. Haha

{Don't be naive to expect that you're night is officially over.}

Day One.

Wow. So tonight was a little more intense than usual for me. My brother (like a minute ago) just shared some words of wisdom to me about telling my parents tonight that I'm applying to UCF for next spring.
I suppose he's not my largest supporter as of right now. "I think you are dumb, but I don't hate," was his response when I said, "Wow, you must hate me right now."

Beyond this, I guess I'm really excited about starting this daily blog. I've been really meaning to do this for quite a while. Whether or not these sudden decisions were directly in regard to a pretty unbearable week for me, isn't really so important. So, this blog should really help me organize my questionably reckless lifestyle, that I've had for the past couple months.

Other than writing a couple words here and there, the purpose of this blog will be to show photos from my day to day, and to talk music.
