7 days....

Til the big 20. (excitement: 6 out of 10)

Last night I finally found the time, and found the stream to a movie I've been wanting to see for about a year now.
And...

...my expectations have been surpassed by a mile.

I would love for everyone to see this movie, so much that I was considering just posting the streams directly to this blog. Then I was overcome by a sense of it being a bad idea, due to copyrights and shit. I really don't want my blog to be shutdown by the eyes of blogger.com.

So if anyone is at all interested in a nostalgic tale of relate-able characters who are dealing with many relate-able situations ("college and post high-school"), then just ask me for the links.

I might give them to you.
I also refuse to post the trailer, cause the ONLY one on the internet is the shitty one.
(And not the captivating indie one that got me stuck on this movie. Lol. So please don't watch the newer, shitty trailer.)

Whether you rent or stream, or maybe surprisingly buy it.
Just watch the movie.

Well shit...

June has been the most active, and yet the most impossibly bloggable month ever.
I think my life has been such a big blur, because I've been disconnected from this blog.
But all is well.

Not only do I have like 1000 pictures to flickr, but I also have quite a bit of stories to go along.

A Brief Synopsis:
The music is always pumping, my health is even more problematic, and my income is dry once again.

Back to the daily grind of things.
Shit.

Listening to:
Emily Haines
Slow Club
The Starting Line
& a little bit of Manchester with a side of Kevin Devine.

JCVD Monologue

An important piece of theatrical history.
Forgive the subtitles.
For this monologue would be simply mediocre if done in English.

Vacant

It's been too long.
A full week since my last post.
So much has a occured, and I have nearly 500 pictures to surface the interweb.
Patience will be rewarded.

First, I need to find 25 bucks to pay for flickrPRO. Shit.

But on a scale from 1 to gross, this week was.....

filthy.

Final Thoughts: I need to P90X.

Life is all about second chances.

I was really never planning on picking up the new Taking Back Sunday CD, New Again. Really haha.
But why, you may ask?

Roughly 3 years ago, I was scarred. TBS released Louder Now. And it was quite possibly one of the biggest letdowns that I've yet to come across (in my existence. But not reeeally lol).

My Reasons:
  1. It wasn't Tell All Your Friends.
  2. I felt betrayed. I think it was the whole radio play aspect. Fuckin radio; death of music.
  3. I didn't really give it a chance. I literally avoided the CD. I mean it wasn't even in my iTunes library. Crazy, right?
  4. It wasn't Tell All Your Friends.
  5. My high expectations killed this CD.
  6. The Fred Mascherino Theory. (see below)
  7. And I was young, stubborn, and naive.

So I plan on giving Louder Now another listen, but this is entirely due to the fact that the new Taking Back Sunday CD, New Again, actually being quite good.

I mean not Tell All Your Friends-good. But nothing is quite that good nowadays.
So, for now I'll deal with highly mediocre.

But really, New Again is a comfortable medium of passionately aggressive music with that appealing Louder Now radio buzz. I have yet to find a song on this CD that can be skipped. But in particular, the opening track "New Again", "Swing", "Capital M-E", and the final track "Everything Must Go" have struck me as standout tracks, so far.

But I have a hunch that maybe I like this CD, because Fred Mascherino is long gone. Iono, I could be crazy. But New Again just really has that attitude that TBS once had (circa 2002). So thus, I believe Fred Mascherino's presence in Taking Back Sunday is best forgotten. Moving forward.
