Like Tosh.0, Web Soup, and maybe even Ridiculousness (MTV is always years behind great ideas).
They all have a common formula.
1. Play an already classic viral video (usually involving pain).
2. Then make a response to it. "The Punchline".
And then, on to the next joke.
You can't particularly hate the formula, because it just works.
But I am allowed to tastefully disagree with the predictability and uninspired delivery that these shows are known for.
[Enter VIRAL VIDEO FILM SCHOOL.]
The formula still exists. But the concept of each [short] episode keeps you guessing.
The dry, witty, playful banter of Brett Erlich is a breath of fresh air compared to all the rest.
And the joke delivery isn't in some standard one-by-one fashion; the jokes are done to facilitate one bigger picture.
And there's equally as much nut-busting humor as the rest.
I've been a fan for entirely too long now, and I'm happy to see that VVFS is still developing creative material with something that we are all so familiar with.
Go ahead and keep on watching the other viral shows, if that's what you're in to.
It's probably better this way, because VIRAL VIDEO FILM SCHOOL is meant for smarter people.
Get educated.
